The Kavli Foundation invites applications for seed grants to aid labs in standardizing their experimental data using Neurodata Without Borders (NWB) 2.0. The seed grant will be for 1 year in the amount of $10,000. The funds are to be used to support building and/or sharing of data and/or software in the NWB ecosystem. While datasets are not required to be released publicly, the conversion code or analysis tools should be shared publicly on GitHub with a BSD or MIT license.
To apply for the NWB seed grant, please send a ~1-page description of the dataset or tool you plan to be incorporating into NWB. Include the goals of the project, the plan for achieving these goals, and a brief budget for the $10k with typical budget categories (salary, equipment, contract work, etc.). Note: It is the policy of the Kavli Foundation that none of our grant funds be expended for indirect costs. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Limit 1 per lab. Please send applications to Dr. Stephanie Albin, Science Program Officer at The Kavli Foundation at <salbin@kavlifoundation.org>.
